Newport

4th in Newport, Photo Diary

As you can tell from the title of this post, I'm veerryy behind in digital content. After the fourth, I went right to Texas, then home, then California, then Massachusetts, and now finally I am back home... before I head to Boston on Thursday. Ooof.

Alas, here we are. Unlike previous weekend jaunts to Newport, which often involve a jamming sailing schedule, this one infolved a fair amount of beaching, surfing, and luxuriating-whilst drinking some Del's. Enjoy this photo diary and I'll be back soon to share my favorites from the month of July and begin working through my California content.

I went out east this weekend for a heavy dosage of fresh air and the ocean- along with a pretty bomb vegan french toast from Babette's. I'll say it to I'm blue in the face, but a change of scenery does wonders for the mind and soul. I am waiting for some film to be developed, but then a full visual diary will be coming soon.

With junior year coming at me with full force, I am finally catching up on so many overdue posts, beginning with this look from Rhode Island last month. Yesterday, I wore a version of this outfit, simply switching out the black turtleneck for camel and adding some hoop earrings for some sass. And with the talk of holiday on the horizon, it remind me I need to start working on my holiday guide once again. If you would like to jumpstart your holiday spirit, we all need some of it, visit last year's holiday guide! I am in the brainstorming stages for this season's content, so if you would like to see anything specific, I'm all ears.

Gucci loafers, J.Crew turtleneck, The Vintage Twin denim (also worn here),

Meli Melo bag (on sale!), & Ray-Ban sunglasses

The Forecast

Week one of school is done & dusted. Four days in the bag and it felt like four years. Time is a sneaky little brown-noser, isn't it?

Instead of pondering life's biggest questions on time, how about we jump back to Newport? Where I was happy as a clam, and the dog days of summer were still in full swing.  As promised in my Autumn essentials post, here is one of the items on my list: black denim. Specifically, high waisted and a pair that ooze serious mom vibes. Re-write that to a cool mom. No doubt.

In order to "New England-ize" the dark denim, I paired them with my go-to oversized fisherman knit. I will praise the fisherman sweater until hell freezes over because it is honestly my most sacred and love item in my closet. Ok, ok, that was a little bit of a hyperbole. Still, you get my point. It would be a stormy weather in my sartorial forecast sans the sweater.

The upcoming forecast for this Autumn? These two golden pieces and sunshine. Lots of both.

Wearing: Vintage sweater, The Vintage Twin denim, Castañer wedges, Chanel bag

Block Island Photo Diary

I was up in Rhode Island last week for a quick getaway before school starts (today, to be exact). After many, many years of being avid frequenters of Rhode Island, I finally checked Block Island of the map. I find it quite funny that I've seen Block Island from the water more than I set foot on the island itself.

My mom and I just went out for the day via the ferry from Point Judith. Before renting our jeep, we picked up fresh coffees and a smoothie bowl for yours truly via Persephone's Kitchen- 10/10 would recommend this quirky and quaint coffee shop. It's barely a five minute walk from the ferry and they have plenty of vegan options for my fellow plant babies out there.

We only had a half-day to see the island (it's very easy to do, btw), so a car was the most efficient way to explore. I would honestly go back and rent mopeds, but the parental vetoed the decision. With the roof down, we started at the Southern lighthouse, and then worked our way North side of the island. We finished our quick adventure with lunch at Beachead.

I'll see you soon Rhode Island- you can't get rid of me that quick. (-;
